Group Honours State Auditor-General, Harps on Continued Probity

The State Auditor-General Mrs. Anne Essessien (FCNA) has been honoured with the prestigious Certificate of Integrity /Service Ambassador Award by a Non-Governmental Organization; The Advocacy for Peace and Values Re-orientation.
Presenting the award in her office recently in Calabar, the Executive Director of the organization, Comrade Abubakar Oyibo said the award is in recognition of Mrs. Essessien’s unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and probity in the financial management of Cross River State.
He further disclosed that the award is part of the organization’s commitment in exposing corrupt practices and rewarding “the most service-oriented leaders wherever they are found through a well conducted Confidential Independent Assessment”.
According to him, ‘The Auditor-General, known for her integrity and proactive approach to ensuring efficient use of public funds, has spearheaded various audits and reforms aimed at enhancing fiscal discipline across government agencies.”
Her leadership acumen has been instrumental in uncovering irregularities, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and promoting a culture of accountability within the State’s financial system.”
In her acceptance speech, the State Auditor-General Mrs. Anne Essessien (FCNA) expressed her gratitude for the recognition, attributing her successes to the collaborative efforts of her team and the support from the State Governor.
She reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to upholding the principles of good governance, transparency, and accountability, which according to her is a critical catalyst for the development and prosperity of the State.
The Service Ambassador Award is reserved for individuals who have shown exemplary service and leadership in advancing Public administration and governance.
The State Auditor-General by this award has joined the list of distinguished recipients who have made significant impacts in their respective fields.
The event was attended by key officials of the Organisation from seven States of the federation as well as Management staff of the Office of the State Auditor- General.
